  • Get delayed for more than 3 hours
  • Depart from an EU airport, regardless of the airline OR arrives at an EU airport but departed from a non-EU airport, providing the airline you flew with are based in the EU
  • Depart within the last 6 years

If you arrived at your final destination 3 or more hours later than scheduled the European Court of Justice ruled that the amount of compensation due depends on the distance of the flight:
  • £ 210 for all flights of 1,500 kilometres or less;
  • £ 333 for any flights within the European Union of more than 1,500 kilometres and for any other flights between 1,500 and 3,500 kilometres;
  • £ 510 for any flights over 3,500 kilometres.
